Tata owns and operates an impressive network infrastructure, with their sub-terrestrial and sub-sea network spanning 700,000 kilometers – more than 17 times around the world. According to the company, 24% of the planet’s internet routes are on their network, which grants improved performance and flexibility.

In 2011, Tata Communications acquired BitGravity – a US-based CDN provider founded in 2006. BitGravity. The companies had been in a strategic alliance leading up to the acquisition, and the move was a logical next step for Tata Communications to improve its global CDN offering. Remnants of BitGravity can still be found, such as the Tata Communications CDN support portal.

Tata Communications offers a wide range of CDN features such as live streaming and video-on-demand (VOD), an out-of-the-box online video platform, site acceleration and software delivery. They also provide DDoS and security services, hosting, colocation and transit.
