Peer5 Description

Peer5 is a peer-to-peer or p2p CDN, which means that for the distribution of content they redirect traffic from user to user. This also means that they do not have their own servers to distribute content from. As a result, a p2p CDN functions differently from a regular CDN. With offices in California and Tel Aviv, Peer5 has built a a p2p CDN that is infinitely scalable, and only uses JavaScript to function. Peer5 uses WebRTC to distribute its content. The Peer5 service is an addition to a standard (multi)CDN setup, but doesn’t replace it. Peer5 also has native integrations with various video players including, but not limited to: Video.js, JWPlayer, Flowplayer, and Kaltura. The infrastructure runs on Google Cloud, Amazon WebServices, and Microsoft Azure to make it more reliable. The content on the streams is divided in chunks and later reconstructed to make the delivery from the p2p structure and edge server easier to balance.

Peer5 Price Overview

Peer5 offers 3 pricing models. The first tier is the Starter tier, which offers 5 TB of traffic for $100 per month, this tier does not have support options nor access to real time statistics.

The Pro tier, which is offered for $500 a month provides you with 50 TB of data and in additio, you get access to online/email support, but not the real time statistics.

The last tier Custom can be requested when you have over 500TB of traffic, and has a flexible per TB fee. Additionally, you get access to Skype support, and real-time statistics.
